J.
GREGORY GRISHAM was born in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee on February 8, 1961.
He attended the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, where he earned
a B.S. in Business Administration in 1983. Mr. Grisham then attended the
University of Mississippi, where he obtained his MBA degree in 1984. He
began law school in 1986 at the University of Mississippi, where he was
a staff member of the Mississippi Law Journal. In 1987, he transferred
to the University of Memphis, College of Law, where he was a staff
member of the University of Memphis Law Review. He received his J.D.,
with honors, from the University of Memphis in 1989 and was admitted to
the Tennessee bar the same year. Mr. Grisham became a partner with the
Firm in 1995.
Mr. Grisham has represented employers in state and federal trial and
appellate courts and before administrative agencies and arbitrators in
27 states and he is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts
for the Western District of Tennessee, the Eastern and Western Districts
of Arkansas, and the Northern District of Mississippi, as well as the
U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Sixth, Eighth, Ninth, and Eleventh
Circuits. He is a member of the Tennessee Bar Association (Labor and
Employment Committee); the Memphis Bar Association (Labor and Employment
Committee; Fee Dispute Committee); The Federalist Society (Co-Chairman,
Memphis Lawyers' Chapter, 2000-present and Member of The Executive
Committee of the National Labor and Employment Practice Group 2006- );
The Defense Research Institute (Employment Law Committee); The Society
for Human Resources Management (SHRM); and the Economic Club of Memphis.
Mr. Grisham is also a member of the Kiwanis Club of Memphis and a 1997
graduate of Leadership Collierville. He also served as Secretary for the
Leadership Collierville Board of Trustees from 1997-2000. Mr. Grisham
was selected to America's Registry of Outstanding Professionals
(2001-02). His practice areas include Employment Law, Labor Relations
Law, and Restrictive Covenant Litigation. Mr. Grisham recently authored
"Religion at Work: Balancing the rights of Employees and Employers,"
Vol. 42, No. 9 Tennessee Bar Journal (September 2006).
